Hunting Time Periods


France is the European country with the longest hunting time periods. The latter vary depending on the given species and hunting practice. When it comes to gun hunting and taking into account the added complimentary periods to the official opening of the hunting season, hunting can be practiced ten out of twelve months.

General Hunting Season:

– From September until February: Waterbirds hunting
– From the beginning of August until January: Summer hunting (Fox, Deer, Boar) :
– From June until March: Fox and Boar species
– du 1er au 31 mars: Fox hunting
– Du 15 septembre au 31 mars: Unearthing
Complimentary periods: May until September
– Foxes and other species considered « pests » can be hunted all year round…
